About Tom Moore & Son

Tom Moore Snr. opened his business in Cooee with his wife Eila in 1961. Initially supplying windows and door furnishings, industrial cleaning cloths, degreasers and body fillers.

The business quickly branched into B&D Doors, showers screens and sliding doors. Tom Snr. was the first to introduce Tasmania to B&D Doors, and never looked back.

He was quoted as saying that he built his successful business on Hard work and sincerity - that's all it amounts to.

He retired from the business in 1982. Sadly Tom snr. passed away in 1998 aged 80years.

Tom Moore Jnr. joined his dad in the firm in 1966 and began operating as Tom Moore & Son. Tom Moore & Son business continued to build and expand statewide with Tom Jnr. becoming the Managing Direstor when his dad retired in 1982.

According to Tom Jnr. the products stocked were because of their quality and the Tom Moore & Son business built a strong reputation for excellent products and service throughout the state

The supply and installation of B&D Doors and Openers became the major focus of the business. With B&D Doors being Australia's leading Garage Door supplier the partnership flourished.

Sadly Tom Jnr. passed away just days before his Dad in 1998 aged 54years.

Paul, a builder by trade, started work for Tom Moore Snr. at Cooee in 1979. He moved to Launceston in 1981.

Paul managed the Launceston Office until the passing of Tom Jnr. Paul and Debbie O'Donoghue purchased Tom Moore & Son Launceston from Tom Jnr's wife in July 1999. Debbie joined the company in September 1999, managing the office and reception allowing Paul to concentrate on quoting, costing and industrial and commercial installations.

We strive to continue the legacy of Hard work, sincerity and quality products all of which Tom Snr. and Tom Jnr. believed were the key elements in achieving a successful business.

B&D Doors continue to be our major supplier. The partnership between Tom Moore & Son Launceston and B&D Doors remains strong. Both companies still have the same belief, quality products and service are essential for customers satisfaction and continued support.
